Kirk for C D Peacock?

Post by kbr718 »

This teaset belonged to my mother, and she always kept an ad with it that identified it a Kirk Repousse exclusively for C D Peacock Chicago. However, I can't identify the marks. Help, please!

From what I can see under a loupe, there are four hallmarks:
1. A large square patterned block
2. A sheild with a lion and a key coming out of the shield (there also looks like an I or 1 in the lower right corner of the shield.
3. A cartouche with FW1
4. A bowl shaped marked with a stylized N2

Can't see the marks very well.
From your description they sound like Dutch export marks.

Could be Dutch marks.
Better wait for members more experienced in Dutch silver than me.

Hi,

The marks are too small and unclear for me to make out.
