Postby fripou » Sun Aug 28, 2005 12:14 pm

Hello

I am at my parents and try to identify their silver

Here is a pair of candlesticks

They where made in Birmingham in 1914 I think

and here is a tumbler made in London in 1899 I think

Can you please tell me by whom these were made and if they are "good" silversmiths ?

thanks in advance

Tumbler is 1899 - maker is William Comyns & Sons Limited, large manufacturers. Their work is OK, not great.

Candlesticks? 1914 is wrong - shape of the P is different, as is the shape of the stamp. Closest fit would be 1964. Maker? Don't know; bit late for my references.

The candlesticks are probably 'Collins & Cook'
