Birmingham Teacaddy Spoon?

Postby billstampsk » Mon Jun 25, 2007 10:51 pm

Hello,

This is the first time I have posted here and hope the link I provide to my teacaddy spoon is appropriate.

I believe it is Birmingham and the maker IT is Joseph Taylor. The date letter is hard to see, but I "think" it dates late 1700's to very early 1800's.

What do you think. I'm very pleased to have been sent a link to this group as I didn't know it existed. Here is a link to my spoon.

Thank you for any assistance.

I hope this is okay to ask, but does anyone know of a watch discussion group on-line?

Thank you all very much.

Eleanor

l think the makers mark is of Joseph Taylor, he entered a very similar mark c1804 and it was recorded on articles such as a Mustard Spoon and a Caddy Spoon, he also was recorded in 1812, this would tie in with the Duty mark which appears to be G lll, as for the date letter l cannot make it out, hopefully someone on here would be able to.

Regards

Nigel
