Sterling c1845 Hair Brush, can't find makers mark

Hi, I'm just learning about hallmarks (and loving it!) so please correct me if I am wrong, Birminham, 1845, but I cannot find the makers mark WJM&Co, can anyone help please?

Hi

The makers were W J Myatt & Co, and yes it is Birmingham but 1919

I forget to ask, do you know what the mark is after the U, if it is a mark at all?

A good start is that a 1845 piece should also have a Duty Mark :)

Annie if you follow the link look at the different styles of the "u" also as waylander says "1845 should have a duty mark"

As for the fourth mark on the hairbrush l cannot make it out, my knowledge of Birmingham silver for that period is very limited, this is only a guess but maybe Myatt were the retailers and the fourth mark is the makers name ?
