birmingham silver napkin ring from navy ship?

had bought a small collection of silver napkin rings at a legion hall fleamarket. the gentleman had been in the navy and said they were from military vessels which came to the port of halifax, nova scotia. the first is marked: j c & s, anchor, lion and D. etched thistle pattern with decorative stones attatched. large letter "J" on side. birmingham.info on maker appreciated.thanks http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a167/ ... 0_0677.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a167/ ... 0_0683.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a167/ ... 0_0756.jpg

Birmingham silver, assayed in (i think) 1928. The maker is not clear; I have a JB & S, and a JD & S working in Birmingham, but no JC & S.

1928 would fit with the other serviette ring. Try contacting the Birmingham Assay Office - they might be able to help.
