Hi, I have a thimble which belonged to my Grandmother. I am having trouble identifying the maker and also an unidentified mark as shown in the photos. I think the date mark is 1925 and I believe the makers mark is C&S or G&S and the unidentified mark has a 3. I wonder if you could help me.
My best guess with the little that remains of the maker's mark, is that it may be 'HG&S', the mark of Henry Griffith & Sons Ltd.. Striking longish marks on a curved surface is always difficult with some parts of the punch being struck deeper than others.
The other mark I think will be a '13', this relates to the size of the thimble.
