Identify hallmarks

I have a dressing table set that is silver with hallmarks D M C Anchor / Lion & Q

Someone has suggested that it is an Irish hallmark Daniel McCarthy but the DMC isn't displayed the same way. The rest indicated Birmingham? Not sure where to start with this one can anyone assist please?
