missing hallmarks

I hope you can help me I just got a v.nice napkin ring made by John Rose

this and a anchor mark for birmingham


so I have no idea about date??? and is it rare to find only these marks on a piece???
any help please

Hi,

You haven't displayed the area in which the other hallmarks would have been applied, but it was usual to submit items to assay prior to any decoration being added and I suspect in this case part of the marking has been lost in that process.

Please remember in future posts to keep your images to within the 7" (18cm) width limits.
