SP Co silver Sheaffer hallmark?

Hi,
I managed to pick up,at a local auction, a lovely oak and silver Sheaffer double inkstand. it's not really old, hallmarked for 1991, Birmingham, but what intrigues me is the silversmith initials SP Co. I've tried to look this up and can only find references to other silver inkstands. Does anyone know whether the SP Co might stand for Sheaffer Pen Co?

I did contact Sheaffer (in the States) and they did confirm that this was theirs, but they couldn't confirm that SP Co stood for Sheaffer Pen Co. Most odd! Could it be that it stands for something else?
