Help With Maker's Mark and Proper Name For A Piece

Postby Shinystuff » Mon Jan 23, 2006 2:25 pm

I have the 2 pieces shown and they are hallmarked with the Birmingham city mark, the British .925 mark and the letter M which I think is the 1910 M. The maker's mark is either I.C or L.C and I tend to think it is the former. Also would like to know the proper term to use when describing the article with the spoon slot. Thanks for any help....John

I am not able to help with the maker's mark, but the item with the spoon slot would be known as a mustard pot or a condiment pot. It is likely that these items were part of a cruet set. As you probably know, the other piece is a pepper pot.
