The cruet tops on this James Dixon silverplated set have Birmingham sterling hallmarks for 1847 and 48.
But the maker's marks are identified as Old Sheffield Plate in Bradbury's.
Are they sterling or OSP?

Agree that the D Star S mark was an OSP mark for James Dixon.
Yet, those do look like authentic Birmingham hallmarks for sterling to me.

Have not seen this D Star S mark used as a sterling mark before.
