Help me identify this please - I don't know what to do!

Postby t_bjarnason » Mon Oct 31, 2005 7:51 pm

This crest has been in my family for years but I would like to know how old it is and where it came from. I know next to nothing about hallmarking so if anyone could give me a hand with what these markings mean, that would be great. Thanks. No one in the family knows where it came from or from where it was purchased. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Do a little research here and you'll be able to answer most of your own questions ->
British Hallmarks
You won't be able to identify the maker there, but perhaps someone here will field that one for you.

The maker of your piece is Thomas James Skelton. It is sterling silver the date is 1907 and it was assayed in Birmingham.
