Need help for maker's mark G.H.

Postby frenchie_myriam » Sat Oct 29, 2005 10:51 am

Hello All,

Another inkwell assayed in Birmingham in 1919. No idea about who the marker can be. As the picture is not very clear, the maker's mark is in a rectangle shape and written G.H.

Can someone help ?

Thanking you in advance, Best Regards. Myriam

Again your photograph is rather fuzzy. From what I can see though the rectangle has triangular ends. If so the likely candidate for your maker is G Hillcox.

Hi Gerryl, I cannot see any triangle. The shape is a rectagle with cut angles and inside G.H.

Do you think it could be G. HILLCOX with this description?

Thanks in advance for your reply

Best regards

Perhaps we misunderstood each other. By triangular ends I meant < at one end of the rectangle and > at the other if so the maker is likely Hillcox.

Hi Gerryl,

It is really a rectangle and each end is straight not shaped as a triangle so I guess we can rule out Hillcox.

Any other ideas ?

Best Regards
Myriam
