Need help for maker's mark H.C.D.

Postby frenchie_myriam » Sat Oct 29, 2005 7:18 am

Hello there,

If you are not yet fed up with my inkwell collection, here is another one assayed in Birmingham in 1909 and I cannot find who the maker is. Also, I would likle to understand what does the G put before the maker's mark, stand for.

Thanking you in advance, Have a great day.

Myriam

Henry Clifford Davis

The "G" may be a tally mark - put on by the individual person who actually made the piece. Also, however, it may be an internal reference to the model, the weight or the quality of the piece.
