A typical sterling cover, dated 1914, on a miniature (2 1/8" x 1 7/8") Book of Common Prayer. The maker's mark is soft, but appears to be B P D C or B P N C -- any idea who?

Boots Pure Drug Co., retail chain in Britain, registered mark in Chester also. A fair amount of sterling novelties show up in a google search for them.

Hi,
A classic case of a sponsors mark rather than a makers mark, somehow it takes all the intrigue out of it.
