Identifying Marks

Post by Manuchao500 »

HI all,
New to the forum and am trying to sort out some silver pieces I received as a gift. This particular piece doesn't have a mark of origin. It does have a lion passant as far as I can tell and possibly the date letter. I'm new to this so appreciate any insight into this particular piece. Hopefully I have posted this correctly.

Thanks so much.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

That's a Birmingham mark. The date letter could be either "o" (1913) or "O" (1938). The other part of the hallmark would have been on the other part (probably a lid) of the dish.
