This is what we think is a silver spoon my wife found yesterday whilst we were out metal detecting. I have tried to look up the marks myself.

The CH could be Charles Hougham, last quarter 18c, the date letter looks like an 'h' so if I am right this would make it 1783/84, however the hallmark book we have also shows a Leopards head whilst this only has a Lion, datemark and makers initial, this has left me confused, advice needed please

You're absolutely right about the maker and date.

Small spoons of this period did not have the leopard's head mark.
