Silver Gilt Candlesticks need help please with makers mark

Postby thursday445 » Fri May 04, 2007 12:36 pm

I have a pair of these candlesticks. I believe the marks are 1893 London, but am not sure about the makers mark. It looks like one listed here, but without the & Sons. This mark appears to be in a shield shape mark. Can anyone help me with it? Many, many thanks.

Hi,
The makers mark is that of Turner Bradbury one of the forerunners of Thomas Bradbury and Sons, this mark was registered on the 30th. May 1889, hope this helps,
Regards Trev.
