Maker WJ London

Postby colinottawa » Wed May 02, 2007 2:58 pm

I have a silver spoon with the initials WJ and am unable to identify the maker. I believe it is a London Hallmark from 1824.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Colin,
That would be William Johnson who entered his mark as a spoonmaker on 9-12-1822,

Hi Colin,
A bit more information on William Johnson, he was apprenticed to Thomas Wallis in 1805, free in 1813, and when your spoon was made his workshops were at 1, Martin Street, City Road, London.
