Vinaigrette Makers?

Postby carling » Mon Mar 12, 2007 2:07 pm

Can anyone ID the makers of this vinaigrette box (I·A over ?·B)? London 1802, I think. The engraved pattern is a bit unusual - looks like a jigsaw puzzle with missing pieces or a whacky mappa mundi. The grille's nice though.

I believe the mark is IA over JB. I have seen it before, but don't know who used it.

Bit of additional information for you...I have a collection of six vinaigrettes but none with a 'Criss-cross/Wrigglework' pattern as yours has. Yours is a particularly nice example from London 1802 with an individually styled grille.......good stuff!! Best wishes, Mike.

Thanks Mike. I've been collecting vinaigrettes for about two years (total of 43 so far) and this is my first with a London mark.
