This was made by one of the largest and most important makers of flatware in London in the 19th century, Chawner & Company.

The firm was founded by William Chawner, and after his death continued and expanded by his widow Mary Chawner.

By the period your spoon was made the firm was headed by her son-in-law George W. Adams, hence the initials "GA".

I believe George W. Adams used that GA mark from 1840 to 1883.
Difficult to make out your date letter. Probably sometime between 1840 and 1855.

Regards,
Pat.

This looks like someone has altered a teaspoon to make it look like a jam spoon. The bowl is very unusual, and I've never seen a jam spoon from such an early date.
