Strange arrangement of marks for London sterling, need help

Postby SusanWhite » Wed Dec 20, 2006 4:39 pm

We have a set of spoons that we can easily read the London sterling mark and the date stamp, but can't find the makers on the British hallmarks pages [looked through all cities just to be sure]. The marks differ slightly from spoon to spoon, so I've included 2 different views of the marks and a single view of the set of spoons.

Any help is much appreciated!

The spoons were made in London...the F is 1881-2 and the G is 1882-3..the makers are John Aldwinckle and James Slater.
Best wishes, MIke.

Hello again...

It occurs to me that it might be helpful if I submitted a photo of these makers' marks for the British hallmarks page, since they aren't on the current page, but I don't know their date of registry.

How did you know their marks?

I posted another earlier request for help that had the maker's mark of TG, are you familiar with it?

Thanks again for your help!

Hi again. The information I provided for you came from 'Jacksons Hallmarks' which is quite a common book in the UK.
What are the full details of the other hallmarks you want the maker for please and will try to help. Best wishes, Mike.
