Thomas Wallis or not Thomas Wallis? Help needed please

Post by user701 »

I am not 100% if the mark on this spoon is for Thomas Wallis or not. It hallmarked for London 1836.
Thanks in advance.

Hi User,

I would go with John James Whiting.

Thanks, Trev, looking at John James Whiting's mark, I agree, it certainly looks the same.

Just as a side-note, Whiting's factory was the old Bateman workshops in Bunhill Row.

Thanks for that Trev, that's very interesting to know on a historic note.
