Unknown Spoon Type and Hallmarks. Help Please :)

Postby chris99460 » Wed Jan 10, 2018 2:12 am

Hi,

I am trying to figure out what type of spoon I have. Was this spoon used for sugar or fruit? Do you think it is plated or part silver? It is quite small, about 4". Below are the pictures. As always, I appreciate the help!

Hi

Your spoon is sterling silver, made in london in 1841. It is commonly known as a salt or condiment spoon, to be used with an open salt cellar.

Martin.
