Help - What is this & Who is the maker

I have aquired this pice but don't have a clue what it is. Mark show it dated as London 1891. Also has a makers name/initials FE EJ but I can't find any info on it. Help please.

Makers mark is that of Frederick Edmonds and Edward J. W. Johnson, Small workers 32 John Street, Bedford Row. I am not sure of the size? but possibly a vesta case? regards

Thanks for that - I think it a bit small for a vesta case but could be wrong

Size is 2.5 x 3.2 x 0.8cm if that helps
