Makers mark on mote spoon

Hi,

I know the marks on most mote spoons are often very difficult to decipher. However the maker's mark on this one is very clear "NO", but I am struggling to attribute a maker, does anyone have any ideas?

Grimwade shows a casemaker with this mark, William Noyse. Registered 29.9.1718. Which up to that date, maker's marks would show the first two letters of the surname.
Just an idea.

Thanks John, I couldnt find that reference in my edition of Grimwade.

It is in the list of incuse marks so not actually a match. And I'm not sure the mote spoon is early enough for a Britannia standard mark. However, I am afraid I have nothing more helpful to offer.

I agree the style is more mid 18th century.
