a very fine claret jug - fine engraved - maybe there is anybody who could tell me about the engraving ?

Unfortunately the glass engravers of that period are not generally recorded but your item has a rare beauty and mounted with a glorious silver mount of that date gives it a good intrinsic value. What a lovely jug...rarely have I seen one so well engraved.
