The hallmarks are lower case g for 1862, Leopard head London, Lion Passant, Victoria effigy duty stamp and Initials SG [I'm hoping Sebastian Garrard 1] or SC whoever that would be.
I bought this as a R & S Garrard teapot and I would love opinions from some of you more experienced silver buffs.
I can't find any record of a mark for Sebastian Garrard 1. [only marks for Sebastian Henry from 1903]

Welcome to the Forum.

I fear I'm going to disappoint you, but I make that the mark of Samuel Cooper, who was trading as Samuel Cooper & Co. of 124, High Holborn when they registered their mark with the London Assay Office on the 18th August 1862. They later, around 1867, removed to 108, New Bond Street.

Hello Dognose I was pretty much expecting to be disappointed. Thanks for sharing your awesome knowledge, I have read many of your posts and your knowledge truly amazes me.

Are you able to link me to any of this silversmiths work or photos of his mark, Google wouldn't bring him up for me.

I'm afraid I know of no examples of the work or marks of Samuel Cooper online, but this is a copy of his mark taken from John Culme's excellent 'The Directory of Gold & Silvermiths, Jewellers and Allied Traders - 1838-1914'

Thank you Dognose. Do you happen to know if a small worker would make a teapot? It isn't a large pot but it still weighs 700 grams so a fairly good gauge of silver and it isn't a simple piece.

I wouldn't place too much emphasis on the description of the trade, this would have been the description entered in the register at the original registration of the mark, but this description would not have restricted the worker/sponsor to any particular range of manufacture.
