London Makers Mark SK Unidentified?

Postby narpin99 » Tue Jul 09, 2013 9:13 am

Hello,

I have these tea nips which look georgian to me. However They only have a lion assay mark (I think this is a London assay) and a makers mark of SK.

I'm really struggling to identify the makers mark and also just when in the Georgian period these were probably made.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stylistically from around 1760. SK may be Samuel Knightly who entered his first mark in London in 1761.

Hi,

For additional information to that published in Grimwades for Samuel Knightly, go to:

Thank you,

Looks like this mark has not been pictured before, so I'm happy for it to be used as part of any relevant library. I can also do a crisper/ better quality shot if required.

Best wishes.
