Sterling Silver Tongs Makers Mark Hacked Off

Postby ruralreality » Thu Aug 23, 2012 1:09 pm

Is this a Makers Mark? Who is it? Did I translate the year correctly? Admin edit read forum rules

Sterling Silver Tongs engraved MW.

One inside arm has George Head, Lion, Year (that I think is 1808 ? ?)

Other inside arm has what looks to be VI but appears to be hacked off ?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

1808 is right. The maker's mark looks like WI, but it's not one I've come across before.
