It's a Georgian beer jug, dated 1741- a lovely piece! Unfortunately someone has cut the handle and inserted insulators so that it can be used for hot liquids, but it is still a very nice thing!
If you could get a better image of the central mark I'd be able to find a maker for you. As it is, I can't really make it out.
If you can't get a better mark, can you at least read the letters? It looks like it might be two sets of initials, denoting a partnership.

I've just added some more photos of the marks. It looks like it could be H S or F S.

By the way, thank you for the information. It is truly helpful and greatly appreciated. I was so excited by your identification I momentarily lost my manners.

It could be WS across the bottom and possibly EB sideways across the top.

I believe your right. Thank you for the help. It's amazing to find I'm holding something so handsome made over 250 years ago.

Good maker too!
It's prohibited to discuss value on this forum, but I feel it's my responsibility to tell you that you should probably get a professional valuation for insurance purposes. It's quite a valuable thing, despite the cut handles. Email a picture to Bonhams silver department for a rough idea. I'm not sure where in the world you are, but local auction houses, particularly outside the UK, can be quite ignorant about such things.
Congratulations!

I'm in the US and thank you for your help and advise. I was wondering do you know the meaning / purpose of the woman on the crown etched on the front of the piece?
