This porringer has worn marks, especially the mastersmark. Difficult to read but, I can read the mark of William Andrews (Grimwade 66) and the dateletter for London 1702. What puzzels me, are the simple handles. The porringers from William Andrews I have seen sofar have handles that are more in style, have a richer form.

I agree that handles of the period are usually more fanciful but there is some wear on your handles. Is it possible that the original handles were damaged in some way and replaced, perhaps 100 years or more after the piece was originally made?

Thank you for your attention. In theory it could be possible that the handles were replaced, bur I can't see any sign of a replacement or repair on the handles. It looks like it's all original. Now I hope someone knows a porringer from William Andrews with this kind of handles (or someone who knows that the whole object is a fake).
