1. Standard Mark : Lion Passant >1822
2. City Mark: Uncrowned Leopard - London >1822
3. Date Mark: f = 1821
4. Duty Mark: KG III <1822
Came to the forum looking for clarification on what initially appeared to be conflicting hallmark dates and found the post quoted below - thank you!

.... in 1821 John Smith, the punch engraver who succeeded John Pingo, "was instructed to produce new designs for the leopards head and the lion passant . A few trial punches were made in combination with the date letter for 1821 and used during part of that year for marking spoons.
So, it looks as though my conflicting hallmarks may have just been part of a test run for new designs in 1821? Neat.
Now I am just trying to clear up the Maker's Mark. I previosuly thought it was Thomas Barker - but his last pieces were signed in 1816.
Any additional info on the trial punches (mentioned above) and whose spoons were marked during this time? Or any thoughts on the Maker's Mark?
Also, if I have completely misread and have this all wrong any nudge in the right direction would be great.
Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
