Charles Chesterman ?

The jug is marked London !753, the maker could be Charles Chesterman, but l am not sure.
Grimwades no 292.Page 202 of Jacksons are similar and the date is right at 1752, but the Cs are not as elaborate.
Fallons page 77 does show the second C with a swirl coming back into the C which is a better match.
ls it possible as seen before with makers marks that the punch is worn? l welcome any answers

Hello Nigel,

Chesterman is recorded as having registered the mark with script lettering on 2nd October 1752. The jug was in assay no later than 28th May 1754 when the date letter was changed. The punch may have been replaced because it was lost, of inferior quality, damaged or used a lot in this short time but of these wear on the original seems to me the least likely.
