Paul Storr? newbie to silver markings.....

Postby fontane77 » Fri Sep 26, 2008 8:49 pm

Hi there,

I got a present of this piece of silver from a relative. Its a very ornate inkwell (i think). The base has the markings PS and the glass inkwell (fountain?) has the markings FB.

I have tried to see some silver like this online, but havent seen anything that even remotely resembles it.

I will give it a serious clean this weekend!

Thanks in advance.

Wow! I wish my relatives gave me silver like that. Paul Storr 1812 and absolutely beautiful. I'm very jealous!

i thought ps might have been plated silverware, but obviously it isnt! thats pretty exciting.

The detachable fountain well (is that what it is?), we think it might be too large for ink, is inscripted FB. the hinged lid also has FB on the underside. Cant seem to find out anything about FB, anyone know who it might be?
