Maker and City Mark don't match?

Looking for some assisstance in understanding why the maker (Barrett & Thompson, Birmingham) does not match the London city marker? From my initial research on this site I believe the B & T mark to be that of Barrett and Thompson out of Birmingham so I would expect to see and anchor city marker however as you can see in the photo's it a leopard indicating London, really havn't been able to unstandstand why.....anyone help?

Hello and welcome.

That mark was used by Blackburn & Tysall (Francis Blackburn & Alfred Tysall) of London.
Barrett & Thompson's mark was in an oval cartouche.

Thank you so much for the reply, what do know about the maker or could you direct me to an area that would assist me in doing a little more research. I havn't been able to find anything on good ole google. Any assistance would be appreciated.
