I inherited this spoon about 4 years ago, and stumbled upon it yesterday. I have been able to find some info on it from this site via markings (country of origin, silver standard, date stamp), but I would appreciate any other information available. A picture of the box is included also. Thanks for looking!
P.S.- Here are the stamps, in case you cannot see them:
COP ; (unknown- looks like an "S" or a "5") ; O9 (date stamp) ; Nat'l. mark (Swedish, unless I'm mistaken) ; silver proof.
Information wanted on Swedish silver spoon
The box says Hörnefors and thats in Umeå. North of Sweden. Are you sure that it is O9? = 1964.
If you search for COP You get
COP= PERSSON AKTIEBOLAG in HAPARANDA during 1956- 1995
Haparanda is i Northern Sweden.
The spoon is a Same ske - (ske=spoon) (Same is the population you know as the people with the reindeer, an animal like moose or rather Elk
the Same travel with their animals and live in tents)
Now that was difficoult - please write in case it makes no sence.
You are right with the katfott (cats paw) and S for silver.
