Two Side Hand Mirror "C.G H g"

Post by zaemp »

Hi,

I recently purchased this two side hand mirror. I partly cleaned it and there are these hallmarks on the side. Could this be an early product of CG Hallberg? It shows "C.G H g". But I don't find the "W" in the swedish date letter charts.

Kind regrards,

Peter

Sometimes W is used alongside with V. (In Swedish alphabet there is no particular difference between V and W, both are used in the year marks. W more seldom). The manufacturing year is the same W6 is 1901. CGH stands for Carl Gustaf Hallberg 1864-1988. After CGH's death the company was renamed to C.G.Hallbergs's Guldsmeds AB (AB (AktieBolag) stands for limited company) It has used many different marks in the past among those the mark CGHg. I hope this will satisfy you?

W6 is 1901
Hi, Thanks a lot!!
Is W6 really 1901? silverstämplar.se says V6 (or W6) is 1899.
