Georg Jensen Gravy Ladle

Post by wcthomas »

Hi folks,

In rummaging through my late wife's flatware I came across this Georg Jensen sterling silver pyramid gravy ladle. It is 7 1/8" long and 2 1/2" wide and weighs 80 grams. I found several on the Internet but there are different sizes, hallmarks. Would anyone know when this was made?

(admin edit - see Posting Requirements )

Thanks!

Tom

Hi,
Pyramid pattern was designed in 1926 by HARALD NIELSEN.
Mark: Dotted oval intaglio lettering has been used since 1945.
Meaning, your ladle was made after 1945.

Thanks AG! And my apologies to the Mods for asking for a value. I should have read the rules more carefully.

wcthomas, don't worry, there are several of us that have had our comments edited by now ;)

You will need to research and form your own opinion of an item's value. I would suggest you can start by looking for the same or similar items that have sold at auction or on sites such as eBay.

"SOLD" prices are a much truer indication than "ASKING" prices which are not always connected to reality.
