Help with identification of coffee pot

Post by Elena_V »

Dear silver experts,
I need your assistance solving the mystery of a coffee (chocolate) pot.
It was presented as Danish Coffee pot in Regence style, 19th century, West Europe. But I have some doubts regarding the time period of its manufacture. Can you help me to identify the country, age, and the origin of this item?
It has five marks on the bottom: assay master mark CLMW (Conrad Ludolph, Danish assay master 1679-1729, https://www.925-1000.com/dm_Assay.html), silver standard 13 lot (=813, silver standard in Germany or Norway, not in Denmark), month mark (Aquarius), mark “R” in an oval – perhaps city mark(?) and mark “INR” (or “JNR”) – master mark(?).
Perhaps, this coffee pot was made not in Denmark (13 lot is not Danish standard), but in some other country, and was marked in Denmark by Conrad Ludolph. But then mark “CLMW” must be accompanied by “Three tower” mark. Could it be that the “three tower” mark is absent because this mark have guarantee a silver purity minimum of 826/1000, while 13 lot is lower?
I am no silver specialist, and I will be glad to hear every opinion.
Thank you in advance!
Regards
Elena

I understand you confusion Its because the marks are false. Here you see 2 of the marks. Month and maker. They are acompanied by a Van Haven guardein mark. Month mark is the same.
The item from the book is proberly not danish.

Hi,
Hose_dk is right.
Besides,it cannot be 13 LOT in Danish.
(1 MARK består af 16 LOD.)
There are more issues, too; pristine condition (e.g.handle !) after supposedly 300 years, the style of silver etc.
