1913 Nielsen pattern?

Postby sue100194 » Fri Feb 03, 2017 2:29 pm

It has the 3 tower assay mark with a 13 underneath and a NP. Nielsen mark but I haven't been able to identify the other 2 marks or the pattern. One mark looks like "chf" and the other is "djr" or "dja". Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Always embed your images, as very few people will click on links.

Good evening Sue,

Yes Trev is correct that you get a much better response when you embed your images. I am not familiar with patterns but lets see if I can assist you with the hallmarks. Starting from the top:

three tower Copenhagen mark 1913 that guarantees a silver purity minimum of 826/1000.

Markers mark: N.P. Nielsen

Danish assay masters mark CFH for Christian F Heise who held office from 1904-1932

What appears to be a retailers mark of T over DR.

I hope this helps.
Warren

If you embed your images, someone might recognize the pattern. If not, as the company is still in business, you could try contacting them directly.
Good luck!

Am too curious so I took the risk and took a look :=). The mark to the left is D, a hammer and A. It stands for "Dansk Arbeit" (Danish Produktion/Made in Denmark). Its meaning was to support domestic production i.e. "Buy Danish!" It was also used on exported goods to some extent. You will find it on object made in around the 30thies to about WW2.
