probably Danish dog nose spoon

Postby R ingo » Thu May 07, 2015 1:21 pm

Hello,
has anybody an idea about this mark (TF, FT, TE or ET)?

I think it was made in Denmark, but I did not found the mark in the Bøje books.

Best regards, Ringo

turn the mark left and a possible H occurs.
Not that it helps have looked in Copenhagen book. I shall look in Provinsen later.

I also think its Danish.

Hello!
It's not Danish, it's Austro-Hungarian tax-free mark used in 1809-1839.

Hello! I don't think, that it is a tax free mark. I've never seen in angular frame.

Hello Hose_dk, Alex and Krisztián,

I thank you for you comments and help.
Indeet I think the most similarities in form and decoration to this spoon to my knowledge are to find in Denmark.

Could the initials (with the two dots between the letters) help to localice the origin? Was this kind of monogram common in Denmark or Scandinavia?

Best regards, Ringo

the initials could very well be Scandinavian.
Normalle you expect ??D or ??S for name + fathers name & Daughter (datter, dotters)
or name + fathers name & Son (sen, son, søn)

But its not alwayes S and D in case whelthy persons it could be different.
The S D would be custom among farmers, craftsmen etc.
