Swedish Spoon

Hello,

This is a handsome looking spoon but I cannot decipher one of the hallmarks to make my records complete. I know it is Swedish but the mark I cannot decipher is the one that looks like a goblet in an oval cartouche. This could also well be some sort of stylised lettering as I've seen similar designs online. I wonder if anyone can help with this?

Many thanks,

Hi Greg,

Not Swedish, those marks are import marks. The spoon is from Norway.

Thankyou Trev. I didn't realise Norwegian and Swedish marks were so similar. I've now updated my records, thanks again!

Hi Greg,

The marks are Swedish, the spoon is Norwegian. It was made in Norway and then imported into Sweden and the marks applied by a Swedish assay office.

The crowned head could bee St Erik, the saint in Stockholm's coat of arms. The spoon is probably a souvenir spoon from Stockholm.
