Swedish teaspoon. Who is maker PH?

Postby Ubaranda » Thu Aug 14, 2014 2:51 pm

Hi all!

This nice teaspoon was made in Helsingborg, Sweden in 1893. Maybe anybody knows who is maker PH?

Thanks in advance.

I'm reasonably sure that the mark is “FH” for Fredrik Holm (1839-1922).

Fredrik Josef Holm was apprenticed to Peter Christian Romare (1805-1867) in Helsingborg in 1852 and took over the workshop upon Romare’s death. Holm and his Carl took over the shop of G. Dahlgren & Co. in Malmö in 1892, and in 1905 Holm transferred the Helsingborg shop to his daughter Hertha Holm-Bjerring (1872-1946). In 1907, she in turn transferred it to her brother, Erik Holm (1877- 1958), who sold the company in 1911 to Karl Svensson Säwstedt.

Hope this helps!

Hi blakstone!
Many thanks for your reply! I looked the mark very carefully - it's really FH.
Best regards. Alex.
