Hi Tomas,

Welcome to the Forum.

You certainly have a wonderful collection. The forum is not just for questions and answers, we enjoy seeing the collections of other members. Perhaps at some point you can show them to us individually, with images of the marks.

Trev.

Tomas,

Thank you so much for the shot of part of your collection. May I suggest a few more shots of the marks. This one has too much glare reflecting off the center to see them clearly.

Hope this helps
Warren

Thx, Warren and Trev. I have a lot to learn taking clear photos of marks. Any suggestions? Mine all seems to be a bit blurry regardless of using my camera or iphone 5.

My main focus in collecting are Scandinavian Hovedvandsaeg, and London Vinaigrettes. I also find 1700s enamel on copper/porcelain snuffboxes (french, bilston or battersea) interesting, but that is for another forum.

Best,
Tomas

Tomas,

Your collections sound fascinating, can't wait to see various examples. With that thought in mind let me make a few suggestions.

Using your camera, place it on the macro setting. Indirect sunlight filtered through a drape. For example here there are three marks, try to zero in on one mark at a time if possible. Then just keep shooting, varying your angle when possible. I'm not very good at it myself, just keep snapping away until I get a few I can work with. I use photobucket to crop, resize, sharpen, etc as needed. I have confidence that you'll work through this process.

Look forward to see your progress.

Warren
