This bowl is very interesting. Bought as a plated bowl and 12 silver spoons.

12 spoons from a Danish maker Franciscius Kozlowsky maker 1798 to 1813. He dies 1847, He was born i Poland 1760
Bowl is marked with:

Very interesting serie of mark. Whats wrong? The marks should have been placed in the 4 corners of the foot. Mater has however taken a spoon with 4 marks and used those. The marks are 3 Towers with 1770 as year. Then guardein Fabritius the first one. Makers mark is dated 1806 (I think its 6) Struck upon another makers mark from 1770. Finally month mark.
By reusing the old marks maker saved tax to the king and to pay guardein for his Work
Maker is Hans Christian Winther

Hose,

Would this stand be placed directly on the dinning table or on a sideboard/buffet so that guests could help themselves then be seated at the table? The marks are intriguing, is there an online site/s where Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and Finnish marks can be viewed? My access to printed material is extremely limited.

A wonderful find!
Warren

The quick answer is directly at the table - one spoon for each.
New Danish marks can be seen at 925-1000 the marks 1408 to 1807 is only accesable at books sold out more that 20 years ago.
I am the "only" dane interested in silver :) - so noone would republish.
Unlike Sweden and Norway where books are available. But not on-line.
