I am trying to identify this unknown (makers mark??) on a spoon.

The other markings on the spoon have been have been identified as follows:

The assayer's mark of Christen Hoff, Assayer Norway 1821-1860.
The "Norsk Monster" mark.
The mark for month of October.
The mark from year of 1849.

The spoon bears the initials of a family who lived in Bergen, Norway.

Please let me know if you are familiar with this mark.

Would you mind showing a picture of the spoon as well as a sharp close-up of all marks?

I'm pretty sure what you're interpreting as the maker's mark is, in fact, the city mark of Bergen, and what you're saying is the "Norsk Mønster" mark (which wasn't used this early) is the actual maker's mark. Are you certain it reads "NM"? This well illustrates the importance of clear, in-focus images. Does your camera have a macro focus setting? It's usually indicated by a tulip symbol, and should always be used when taking photographs of close-up details like hallmarks or monograms.

Thank you, blakstone, I was hoping that you would see my post! I've put a lot of time into researching this spoon, and I would very much like to know the maker. I've just added a few more pics. The "NM" is very clear. The city marks for Bergen would have contained the seven dots for the seven hills, would they not? Again, thank you very much for your help!!!!

I also tried to get one more where the "NM" is more clearly visible.

OK, the top mark is definitely the Bergen city mark; the "hills" are just very worn. The "NM" is the maker's mark, that of Nicolai Monclair, master & citizen in 1833, died 1892. I don't know precisely when the "Norsk Mønster" mark started being used, but I associate it with the 20th century.

Hope this helps!
