Norwegian Silver Teaspoons

Postby babb » Mon Jun 28, 2010 12:11 pm

I have 2 sets of 6 teaspoons that I believe are norwegian.

I believe they are pre 1892 because of the 13 1/4 mark.
I suspect that the number is a date, ie 61 is 1861 and 69 is 1869.
The 7 small balls look similar to part of the Magnus Aase symbol.
I dont have any idea about the KH or the MT.
The remaining symbol on each set is very difficult to read.
If anyone can help to identify these or even confirm my ideas I would be grateful.
The spoons are approx 13cm in length and weigh about 11gm.

A post that's worth a bump.

Any thoughts?

Yes many thoughts but are they correct answers is another question, so here are my suggestions:

Undoubtedly Bergen Norway. The MT could be Michael Arentz Tvedt, born 1805 and dead 1859. He marked in Bergen 1834-1859.
The KH mark could be Knud Olai Hansen born 1829 and dead 1875. He also marked in Bergen 1864-1880.
