J. Pettersen 830S engraved teaspoons

Postby Citrislazer » Tue May 04, 2010 11:14 pm

I have a set of 12 silver teaspoons. They are hand engraved on the front, the bowl has a pinkish hue to it, and they are stamped on the back of handle: J. Pettersen 830S

I would like to know who this is, where they are from, and time period.

I've come up with four different smiths, none of which I can find any useful information on.
J. Pettersen - thought to be from Norway or New Zealand
Johan Pettersen - of Sweden around 1760
Julius Pettersen - of Norway from 1859 - 1930
Jacob Pettersen - of Norway around 1700

Your spoons is from Julius Pettersen, Oslo 1859 - 1930, working from 1894. He used JULIUS PETTERSEN and J.PETTERSEN.
