Mystery Spoon

Post by bstaunto »

Hi there,

I am after any information about this spoon I bought a number of years ago. I think it must be European (it doesn't seem to match any type of English Spoon). It is quite light and is marked simply with the makers mark of CH in fancy script.

Can anyone shed any light on how old it is, where it might be from and any possibilities for the maker?

Any help would be great, I'm quite lost with this one,

Ben

Hello
Do you know anything about the spoon?
It could be norwegian. The mark is very resemble Christian Holter, in Oslo and Holmestrand in Norway. Working 1849 - 1883.

a dane Carl Christian Hansen working 1812 until 1847

Thanks for the possible makers.

Unfortunately I don't know anything of the history of the spoon, it was bought at a small antiques auction about 10 years ago.

If anyone else has an opinion, please let me know,

Cheers,

Ben
